Located in Peoria, AZ the Westbrook Village Computer Club (WVCC) is for both new and experienced technology users living in our community. Our goal is to help our members get the most from their computers and their devices including PCs & laptops, Windows & Apple, iPads, tablets and smartphones. Our volunteers’ contributions of time, effort and skill make WVCC one of the finest computer clubs in the state.
The club’s active season runs from November through May annually, however, some programs meet during the summer, and the Computer Lab is open to members throughout the year.
Join Us! Club Membership is $10 annually per person. All new and renewing members: complete a Membership Form and Waiver Release Form. Download Membership Form Make check payable to WVCC, and return forms with payment to the Lakes Rec Center Desk. Or mail to WVCC, 19251 N Westbrook Parkway, Peoria AZ 85382. Your ID badge can be picked up from the Lakes Recreation Center Desk in about a week.
Computer Talk is our monthly program with lectures on current technology topics by experts in a variety of areas. There is a Q&A period following the presentations offering a shared experience in a social setting. Guests are welcome to attend Computer Talk to acquaint themselves with WVCC before joining. Workshops are also offered on a monthly basis, are free to members and feature current topics discussed in a smaller group setting, often with hands-on experience. More . . .
The Computer Lab workstations, equipment and software programs allow members to do a variety of tasks. Members can access a secure wifi or use the workstations to surf the Internet. For genealogy research, members can access Ancestry.com, World Edition. The Lab can be used anytime it is not being otherwise used for club activities. More . . .
AZ Tax Aide is our other community program. WVCC offers their facilities for the use of the AARP Foundation’s tax preparation service. This is a free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service, geared toward taxpayers with low to moderate income, 60 years or older. This program is a cooperative agreement with the IRS.
